Preceptor Training Program

The Preceptor training is an eight-hour program that will train mentors to work with nurses, new to your facility, and assist them in starting off on a positive note.  The Preceptor's role includes working side by side with the new hire throughout the designated orientation program while assisting the new employee in becoming familiar with your facility's routines, policies and procedures.

In addition to training Preceptors, Avera Education & Staffing Solutions provides a support network that includes:

• Guidance in selecting your Preceptors

• Facilitating meetings for both the Preceptors and the Preceptees to discuss problems or questions that may surface during the orientation process

• Assistance with developing a facility wide nursing orientation program

• Advice on recognition of the Preceptors

The support network is designed to assure each Preceptor that he/she is teaching with the same common goals as the other Preceptors in your facility while recognizing your facility's mission on healthcare.
