Regulatory Solutions:  Survey Preparedness

In our present regulatory environment, many facilities need assistance in evaluating their survey readiness.  At Avera Education & Staffing Solutions we recognize each facility is unique. Our consultants work on an individual basis with each facility to develop a survey preparedness plan geared toward your facility’s specific needs.

Our survey consulting process includes:

Assessment

Comprehensive baseline assessments evaluate your current level of compliance and provide the basis for developing a customized action plan to ensure survey success.

  • Review of the RAI process → MDS → RAPs → implementation of the care plan

  • MDS reconciliation

  • Observation of resident care

Simulated Surveys

A simulation of the actual survey agenda and process provides a critical opportunity for your staff to walk through the survey experience, focusing on the following areas:

  • Environmental rounds

  • Interviews with residents, family members and staff

  • Medication administration observation

  • Dining experience and dietary services review

  • Review of abuse prevention process

  • Nurse Aide Training Review

Plan of Action

The survey consulting process concludes with an on-site visit to deliver the reports generated from the consultation.  During this visit the consultant will work with the facility to develop follow through plans to best deal with identified areas of concern.

Avera Education & Staffing Solutions also provides assistance with your corrective plan of action in follow up to an actual state or federal survey.

Training

Inservice training focuses on educating your staff on how to comply with current regulatory requirements.
